ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize 2018 – winners announced today

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) will be announcing the winners of the Celebrating Impact 2018 this afternoon. If you’d like to follow the awards ceremony, you will be able to watch the event live on the @esrc Twitter account from 4.30pm or follow news about the prize using the hashtag #impactprize.

We’re delighted to see some of the researchers shortlisted have been working with data held by the UK Data Service and hope we’ve helped support their research and its impact.

Dr John Drury of the University of Sussex who researches Crowds and Identities has used data on Flood, Vulnerability and Resilience (2007-2009) in his work.

Meanwhile, Dr Abigail Dymond who is shortlisted for her work on Impacting national and international policy and practice around Taser and police use of force is a frequent user of data we hold, including:

Dr Toby James, University of East Anglia, has been working with the British Election Study.

We wish all those shortlisted the very best of luck and applaud them for their research and its impact.
